Mexico A Unique Country - 1750 Words
Mexico is a very unique country that has a broad history. With it being an election year many have come to notice Mexicoââ¬â¢s presence and what problems it may bring, however it is vital to take into account what brought Mexico in the state that it is in now. Mexico has much work to do in order for it to become a successful country, but with understanding the history, economic and social position it holds, it will bring possible solutions that it can take to become the successful state that it aims to achieve. The major geographical and demographic features that Mexico has include tropical rain forests, snowcapped volcanoes, and rich agricultural regions; however, only twelve percent of Mexicoââ¬â¢s land is suitable to grow crops, which is mostly located in Northern areas that are close to the United States border. In southern Mexico there are smaller farms that are less efficient in production. This suitable land to grow crop has large and highly mechanized export farms that provide much of Americaââ¬â¢s winter produce. Agricultural produce has boosted the economy. Besides agriculture, Mexico is rich in minerals and major oil reserves. The population is the 2nd largest in Latin America, behind Brazil, and is racially diverse: 60 percent are mestizos (mixed of Spanish and indigenous blood); 30 percent live in the central and southern parts of the country and are considered indigenous.
